The auger hopper was developed to enable farmers to order bulk loads of grains and unload these quickly into a stationary auger to fill silos.
This is aimed mainly at palm kernel as this is a difficult product to unload out of a bulk load truck or trailer unit, if unloading through the small tail gate chute.
Typically what happens when unloading palm kernel there can be one to two tonnes of palm kernel that hangs in the back of the truck and will not flow through the small chute in the tail gate. What has not exited from the truck or trail must be shovelled out, which amounts to extra truck delivery costs and extra work for farm staff to undertake this job.
With the PPP auger hopper the truck driver can open the tail gate of either the truck or trailer and control the flow of product into the auger hopper. This results in no additional work or time the truck must remain on the farm for unloading.
In the base of the hopper an auger moves the product into the main auger which discharges the product into the silo.
The main discharge auger will vary in length depending on the height of the silo.
The hopper is manufactured from standard galvanised steel and the augers from standard painted auger tube.
